For the purpose of applicable data protection law, Barknorth is the data controller of your personal information.

Personal information we collect

  • Device information — browser version, IP address, time zone, cookie information, pages and products viewed, search terms and how you interact with the Site. Collected automatically through cookies, log files, web beacons, tags and pixels, in order to load the Site correctly for you and to analyse Site usage. Shared with our processor Shopify.
  • Order information — name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, email address and phone number. Collected from you when you place an order, in order to fulfil our contract with you: process payment, arrange shipping, provide invoices and order confirmations, communicate with you, screen orders for potential risk or fraud and, where you have agreed, send you marketing. Shared with our processor Shopify and with our shipping and fulfillment partners.
  • Customer support information — the content of your messages to us, including your name, email address and any order details you provide. Collected from you when you contact us by email or through the contact form, in order to provide customer support and handle returns. Shared with our processor Shopify.

Minors

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address above to request deletion.

Sharing personal information

We share your personal information with service providers who help us provide our services and fulfil our contracts with you:

  • We share shipping details with our fulfillment and carrier partners, including our U.S. fulfillment centers and USPS, in order to deliver your order.
  • We may share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Behavioural advertising

We use your personal information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example, we use Google Analytics to help us understand how customers use the Site (see Google's Privacy Policy; you can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), and we share information about your use of the Site and your purchases with our advertising partners, in some cases through cookies or similar technologies.

You can opt out of targeted advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out portal at optout.aboutads.info, and through the settings of the individual platforms (Google, Meta, Microsoft).

Using personal information and lawful basis
